Fuerteventura Cruise Port Guide Info

Lying 78 miles off the coast of Morocco, and north of the island of Fuerteventura, Lanzarote is one of the eight Canary Islands and a popular seaport attracting a large number of cruise passengers every year. The island is known for its volcanic landscapes, black and golden sand beaches, and a wide variety of natural treasures. 
The cruise terminal is located in the vicinity of Arrecife, a beautiful capital of Lanzarote, and there are two docking locations. One dock is located at the Muelle de Los Marmoles, around 4 kilometers from the Arrecife downtown, and the second one is the pier La Boca de Puerto Naos, only 1 kilometer away from the city center. The cruise lines normally provide shuttle buses for their passengers to take them into the town, and these are usually for a fee. There are also a lot of taxis waiting in front of the terminal, but you can also walk into the town if your pier is close by. 

The main attraction of Lanzarote is Timanfaya National Park, which you can visit either with your shore excursions or by a taxi. It is located around 30 kilometers away from your pier and offers incredible views over centuries-old, still active volcanoes.

You can choose between riding camels, volcanoes trekking, and other activities, or simply admire the lunar landscapes of the national park from several fascinating viewpoints where your bus will take you. 

Besides exploring the Timanfaya National Park, you can also visit Jameos del Agua, another natural attraction located 28 kilometers up north from your cruise terminal, or head over to Los Hervideros offering unique views of the island’s rocky cliffs and the Atlantic Ocean. 

If you are into wine, Lanzarote boasts delicious, premium quality wines that you can taste in one of the numerous wine cellars, where you can also learn about the island’s long tradition of wine-making. Last but not least, Lanzarote has magnificent beaches, and one of the most popular ones is Puerto del Carmen, famous for its black sands and numerous facilities, located 18 kilometers away from your cruise dock
