Ship Overview
Costa Smeralda is the first Costa cruise ship to run on LNG (liquefied natural gas), the cleanest fossil fuel in the world which in terms of environmental impact greatly reduces exhaust gas emissions. This state-of-the-art ship named after Sardinia's popular tourist coast offers dining options in 11 restaurants, one of which is designed for families. The ship features 19 bars, a beautiful SPA area, a water park with slides, 4 swimming pools and an area entirely dedicated to children. Costa Smeralda also has its own museum, the CoDe - Costa Design Museum, dedicated to the excellence of Italian design. The three-level area located at the center of the ship named "Trastevere" and the large stairway on the three decks Piazza di Spagna are designed to impress all guests with the grandiose design. The Piazza di Spagna and Trastevere feature bars and shops, as well as multiple entertainment options that are staged here.
